Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 7 July 2026
These terms govern the use of this website and the services provided by Algarve Imports.
The service
Algarve Imports provides assistance and representation in importing and legalising (registering) foreign vehicles in Portugal. This is a provision of services: the vehicle is at all times owned by the client, with Algarve Imports acting as intermediary and representative, never as owner or seller of the vehicle.
Quotes and estimates
The figures shown in the estimator and in quotes are estimates. The ISV (vehicle tax) and, where applicable, VAT are estimated on the basis of available information and are confirmed only by the official Tax Authority (AT) simulator and by the Customs Vehicle Declaration (DAV) at the time of filing.
The final tax amount is set by the Tax Authority and may differ from the estimate shown.
Pricing and VAT
The service fee shown includes VAT at the legal rate in force (23%). Taxes and charges owed to the State (ISV, VAT on the vehicle where applicable, IUC road tax and fees) are separate from the service fee and are paid to the competent bodies.
Liability
Algarve Imports is responsible for correctly performing the contracted service. We are not responsible for decisions of the Tax Authority or other public bodies, for the accuracy of third-party listings, for currency fluctuations, or for transport or third-party delays outside our reasonable control.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount of the service fee paid. Nothing in these terms excludes the rights granted to consumers by law.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. The courts of the Faro district (Tavira) have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to the consumer's right under the law to bring proceedings before the court of their own domicile.
Consumer dispute resolution
In the event of a dispute, the consumer may use the Electronic Complaints Book at https://www.livroreclamacoes.pt/inicio.
Under Law no. 144/2015, the consumer may also turn to an alternative consumer dispute resolution (ADR) body: in the Algarve region, CIMAAL — the Algarve Consumer Dispute Information, Mediation and Arbitration Centre; and, at national level, CNIACC — the National Consumer Dispute Information and Arbitration Centre.
